Tucson PD Memorial Service

President Lorraine Thompson and the Executive Board of Tucson F.O.P. Lodge 1 welcome you to our website. This website is intended to keep our members informed.

Thank you for visiting our website and please contact us with your comments and/or concerns.

Who we are:
The Fraternal Order of Police is the world's largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 2100 lodges and over 324,000 members.

We are the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. We are committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation.

No one knows the dangers and the difficulties faced by today's police officers better than another officer, and no one knows police officers better than the FOP. Founded in 1915, we are still "Building on a Proud Tradition."

Callous tirade by KFYI Radio's Bruce Jacobs
8/28/2008

With the first anniversary of Phoenix Police Officer Nick Erfle's tragic death just a few weeks away, we are reminded once again of the vast sacrifices made every day by Arizona's finest. When an officer in our community is murdered, the loss is profoundly devastating and intensely personal.

The Arizona Fraternal Order of Police, an organization that has continually improved the lives of law enforcement officers for more than 60 years, was stunned by the offensive and heartless remarks about Erfle's widow by a local talk show host. This callous tirade by KFYI Radio's Bruce Jacobs -- who sits comfortably behind his microphone inside an air conditioned studio -- disregarded the vast personal sacrifices made by Nick and Julie Erfle, their two young children and police officers across Arizona. Regardless of Jacobs' opinion on immigration, his vicious attack against Julie's public comments disgraces the legacy of her husband and defies any measure of humanity.

FOP members with the Phoenix Police Department joined by 7,000 others across Arizona call upon Clear Channel Radio (owner of KFYI) and the advertisers who sponsor this station to immediately discontinue their support. Thousands of officers who diligently protect our community no matter the price are asking you to stand with them.

Lou Manganiello, President
Fraternal Order of Police
